#308242 Sell Topic Guidelines & Format

Posted by Arun on 11 March 2014 - 01:08 AM

-------------------------------------------------
Note: Please do NOT copy the format from other seller's topic. You have to copy the format from this topic only (see post #2).
--------------------------------------------------

1) As a rule of thumb any member having below 25 posts cannot post a Sell topic. Your account should be at least 1 month old before opening a new Sell topic. For your first Sale topic, you may be requested for proof like ID card scan copy if required.

2) All sell (used/new) topics should have an actual photograph of the item along with your member name and the date which should be readable. Click here for an example of a photograph. Please get more details in post #2 below.

3) All sell topics should use the format as per post # 2 below.
You can have your own description/explanation alongside but the above information has to be there in your post. If the required information is not present then the member will be contacted by a moderator via PM to edit the post within 24 hours.

4) The topic title should have "For Sale:" in it. (e.g. For Sale: Used HTC EVO 3D)

5) If you have multiple items for sale at a time (within 48 hours) then please post them under one topic.

6) Sell topics with pre-orders / interest checks will not be allowed for members with below 1000 posts.

7) Sellers are encouraged to request buyers to post in the topic about the transaction so that it can be used as feedback by your future potential buyers. Please make sure to use the "Report" button to request closure of the topic once the deal is complete.

8) Accessories for Sale have to be posted in the "Mobile/Smartphone Accessories Request and Offers" topic only. Mobile accessories, broken/bricked handsets for parts, etc. for both sale and request can be posted in the "Mobile/Smartphone Accessories Request and Offers" topic. If a member has the requested accessory then they can contact that member by email or PM with their offer for further discussion.

9) The moderators reserve the right to remove a topic is there is any suspicion/inappropriate content or based on report(s) received from member(s) about suspicion or any other issue. A topic not following the guidelines format will be removed. Bumping of topics is not allowed.

10) As mentioned in the Terms of Service when you signed up, RIMweb.in will not be liable for any trades or transactions and all trades/transactions are at sole risk of members.

11) For imported handsets being sold, please make sure that you mention whether the MEID is registered (with provider name) for *228 activation and whether EVDO can be activated or not. If it is an imported handset you (the seller) is expected to help with the MEID registration of the handset and activation. EVDO activation also has to be done by the seller and should NOT ask the buyer to get it activated from someone else. Provisioning/Configuring of EVDO in the handset and data plan activation also has to be done by the seller. If a seller is found out to be asking buyers to ask someone else or Reliance Web World for activation of handset/EVDO then the seller will not be allowed to sell in the forum thereafter. So if you are unable to activate the handset or EVDO for the buyer then you have to clearly mention that it in the topic. Generally such handsets will not sell but some buyers who can manage it from their side may still buy it.

Note: The above guidelines may be modified/appended if required in future.

Posted by ami1 on 08 October 2016 - 03:51 PM

I have a Toshiba Regza PB1 32" LCD TV for sale as it is lying unused and I am short of space to keep it.

It is in fully working condition and has the usual HDMI, Component, Audio in/out ports and fully working Remote etc.

I don't have the packaging anymore but I think I should have the bill somewhere. It is around 4 years old.

Buyer has to pick up it from Andheri East (JVLR). Expected price is Rs 6,000/= 8,000/=

I have an EZVU dongle that I can give along with it free. (it is like chromecast so you can stream movies from any android, windows, iOS, mac device over WiFi to the TV. It has it's own hotspot so it works even without wifi router. If you want to stream movies from internet then you need WiFi router to which EZVU will connect)

You can read review of identical 24" model here or details of 32" model here Alternatively, just PM me any queries.

Actual photographs of the TV are attached below. (BTW, the thin bar stuck with white tape on top of the TV is a Wii sensor - not included with TV !)

#251412 The All-in-one FAQ: Using Foreign Imported CDMA Handsets with CDMA Networks i...

Posted by Arun on 19 December 2011 - 02:37 AM

This FAQ is a guide to cover most questions related to using foreign CDMA handsets with Reliance CDMA network (or other CDMA operators in India). If you are looking to use a top-of-the-line CDMA handset (mostly launched in USA) or have a foreign CDMA handset, this is the topic for you.

I apologize for the delay in posting the FAQ topic as I wanted to post it few months ago with many members asking for it. This FAQ topic will be kept updated based on feedback/suggestions received.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Using foreign handsets with Reliance CDMA network (or another CDMA network):

Q: Can I use <insert any foreign CDMA handset here> with my existing Reliance CDMA connection?
A: Yes, since MEID/ESN of the handset can be registered with Reliance nowadays, the handset can be made to work with Reliance CDMA using your existing connection.

Q: What is MEID? What is a MEID Registered Handset?
A: MEID means Mobile Equipment Identifier. It is a unique number for each CDMA handset which is generally displayed under the battery compartment. MEID registered handset means the number is entered and accepted as valid in the respective CDMA network’s internal network management software. Unless it’s registered, it cannot be used on that particular network.

Q: So all I need is to get the MEID/ESN of the handset registered with Reliance to start using the foreign CDMA handset?
A: It isn't easy as that. The handset has to be fed with Reliance network's parameters using programming softwares. There is no straight forward procedure and the procedure varies for different handsets. Some handsets are very difficult to configure and you might even end up bricking the handset if you are not sure what you are doing.

Q: So I should not import the handset here if I want to use a foriegn handset with Reliance CDMA? What is the best way then?
A: Exactly! Please DO NOT import the handset as activating it with another CDMA network requires technical expertise and softwares after the MEID/ESN is registered. It is recommended to buy a pre-configured handset from any good seller in the Buy/Sell forum. You should be able to transfer the connection using a Handset Change Card (HCC) or from Reliance Web World/Mobile Store to the handset which the seller will provide you. Please save yourself the hassles of configuring the handset by purchasing the handset directly from a seller in the Buy/Sell forum. If you are thinking to import the handset to save money, there will not be much saving considering that you have to pay someone to get the MEID/ESN registered and get the handset configured.

Q: How can I find a good seller to buy the handset from?
A: To make is easier for new members who are not aware of the existing sellers with good feedback from buyers, RIMweb is introducing a new seller group where good sellers with a proven record of selling foreign handsets successfully and has excellent feedback from buyers. To know more about the benefits of buying from RIMweb Reputed Seller group, please check this topic.

Q: Is it illegal to configure a foreign CDMA handset with Reliance? Will my connection be misused by someone?
A: Using an MEID registered handset is safe and there isn't much chance of misuse unlike other illegal methods like cloning. The legality in changing the settings of operator locked foreign handset is debatable but certainly not illegal as cloning a handset.

Q: Do I get warranty for the foreign CDMA handsets from the sellers here?
A: Unfortunately you cannot get manufacturer warranty for foreign handsets imported here. There were some incident discussed in the past where members have reported the manufacturer to have given warranty for their handsets, but that may not happen normally. They had to send the handset to US through some relative to avail the warranty. It was also reported that HTC may provide warranty services on imported handsets in India but they charge a flat fee of Rs 1,400 to even inspect the problem. The handset seller may be able to provide limited support (as in acquiring parts or availability of service locations) depending on what the issue is. If you are not comfortable with purchasing a handset without warranty you may consider purchasing a handset directly from Reliance instead. With that said, the foriegn CDMA handsets (mostly imported from US) are of good quality and majority the buyers of foriegn CDMA handsets here have had trouble free experience.

Q: Will I be able to use data (1x or EVDO) in the foriegn CDMA handset?
A: Yes, data (both 1x and EVDO) will work in most handsets posted in the Sell forums. The sale topic will mention if data (CDMA 1x or EVDO or both) will work or not. On imported Blackberry Handsets in CDMA mode, BIS (Blackberry Internet Services) don’t work on Indian CDMA networks, however some sellers were able to offer that as well in the past. Data (1x or EVDO) is not yet possible on CDMA iPhone as of now.

Q: What are the data (1x and EVDO) plans (prepaid and postpaid) available that I can use with the handset?
A:
Prepaid: http://www.rimweb.in...-unified-plans/

Postpaid: http://www.rimweb.in...-gb-month-evdo/

Some sellers may offer even better data plans (like retention plan) that are not normally available to the public, you can check that with the seller.

Q: What is the process to transfer my existing connection to the handset?
A: You can use a Hanset Change Card (HCC) to transfer the connection or the seller will give you instructions on how to transfer the MDN at a Reliance Web World / Mobile Store.

Q: If I want to sell the handset to another person what will be the procedure at that time?
A: You may have to seek the assistance of your handset seller for transferring the handset (including reconfiguration the handset data parameters for new user's MDN) to another person when you want to sell it. The seller may charge for that service which is fair. You can clarify such charges by the seller by email/PM when you buy the handset.

Q: Can I register MEID and use the handset with TATA or MTS network in India?
A: MEID/ESN registration with TATA and MTS is not as easy as Reliance, however some sellers do sell handsets registered for TATA, MTS. The handset seller will mention the sell topic whether the handset is compatible with other networks or not.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FAQs for those who already have a foreign CDMA handset to be activated with Reliance CDMA:

Q: I read this topic late and had unknowingly imported an handset from US. What can I do now to transfer my Reliance CDMA connection to it?

A: These are the main steps:

1) Get the ESN/MEID registered (by giving parametrs like MEID or ESN, SPC, Manufacturer, Model, Sub Model)

2) If the Handset allows changing SPC, then change to ZERO (you require to know the SPC/MSL Code to chanage SPC - Generally On eBay.com there are many sellers selling SPC for these Handsets)

3) If SPC cannot be changed then give original SPC for MEID Registration (for Sprint, iPhone, and Blackberry)

4) Restore the original MEID if it is not the same (This VERY difficult procedure and only experts can do this with their professional tools)

5) Change network parameters (NAM1 - MNC - MCC, enter MIN as any number starting with 9, enter MDN as any number starting with 9) and load the PRL to that of Reliance Mobile CDMA.

You should be able to activate the handset after that by transferring your connection using a Handset Change Card (HCC) or transfer MDN at a Reliance Web World/Mobile Store.

Q: Where do I get my handset's MEID/ESN registered or request EVDO activation?
A: You may try contacting the sellers in the Reputer Seller Group. Please find the group members here. You can contact them by PM (Personal Conversation) from their Profile page. Please do not post requests for MEID registration or EVDO activation/configuration on the forum topics/posts.

Q: What is a fair cost to have the MEID/ESN registered?
A: Since there is no defined cost for MEID/ESN registration, the seller may charge a nominal fee for the registration process. A fair cost seen among sellers offering MEID/ESN registration alone (without handset configuration) is around Rs.500 but it will vary depending on the seller.

Q: How do I restore the MEID and configure the handset settings for Reliance CDMA?
A: There is no universal way of restoring MEIDs. The process to restore original MEID will be different for different handsets. Some handsets may restore ESN/MEID with a master/factory reset, however this is not always the case. Some handsets may require only minutes while some handsets will require several hours. You may even end up bricking the handset if you are not sure what you are doing. So the best and easiest way is to get it done by the person who registers your handset's MEID/ESN.

Q: What is a fair cost to get the handset configured over TeamViewer or directly?
A: The cost for the handset configuration will vary depending on the seller, the specific handset model, your technical knowledge, etc. I had discussed with several sellers for their opinion and none of them are willing to commit themselves officially due to various limitations. So you have to contact a seller and request help so that the seller can understand your requirement and give you a custom quote for the help with configuration. You may be quoted less if you are technically proficient to handle some of the configurations from your side provided you have the softwares. Some sellers may be able to configure the handset through TeamViewer (http://www.teamviewer.com) while some sellers may want you to send the handset via courier or deliver directly. So it basically depends on what you and the seller are comfortable with after discussion. Some sellers may offer to configure it for free if they have time to spare.

Some sellers have to depend on third parties for having the MEID/ESN or EVDO activated, so the time required for this procedure will vary which is one main reason why sellers cannot give a commitment. Please try to get it done through sellers in the Reputed Seller Group forum and avoid new sellers with no feedback as I have received few reports of people (on other platforms like quikr.com, olx.in) being duped or ignored after collecting the money for MEID/ESN registration.

Q: Will I be able to utilize the buyercomplaints@rimweb.com email address for sending complaints regarding Reputed Sellers for not registering/activating my imported handset within the time-frame they promised?
A: No, the buyercomplaints@rimweb.com email address cannot be utilized for sending complaints regarding MEID registration or configuration of your imported handset as the process may take longer duration sometimes beyond their control. You need to be patient with them to get it done. This is another reason why it is recommended to buy the pre-configured handset directly from a seller instead of importing a handset yourself.

Q: I am technically inclined, have required softwares and am willing to take the risk. Where can I discuss the steps to configure the handset myself once the MEID is registered?
A: Topics for that purpose can be discussed in this sub-forum. You can find a tutorial for flashing your handset after MEID registration here: http://www.rimweb.in...n-registration/

Q: How do I know if the MEID is registered or not?
A: You can check that by sending SMS with format: GETSTAT RSN# or MEID# from any active Reliance CDMA handset to 53733

Q: What is the fair cost for EVDO activation if I want to use data also?
A: Once again, as mentioned earlier there isn't a predetermined cost for EVDO activation. You may contact any one of the reputed seller to find out the price including configuration of the handset.

Q: How do I generate the NV dump file for my handset/MDN myself to configure EVDO in my handset?
There are no publicly available NV dump file generators as of now. Hence it is not possible for now and you have to depend on your handset seller or any one of the reputed seller as mentioned earlier in this topic to get the NV dump file generated. If you have the NV dump file from the handset seller, then you can upload it to your handset using the steps mentioned in the configuration topic.

Q: My handset seller has already configured the handset with EVDO parameters (using NV dump file) and now how do I request for EVDO activation with Reliance?
A: Your handset seller or the person so registered the MEID should be able to request for EVDO activation of your handset with Reliance. However if they are unreachable you can try requesting from your side at Customer Care (*355/*222/*333), though it is not going to be a straight forward process since most Customer Care personnel are not trained properly on how to handle such requests. If one of them could not help you with taking the request, try asking them to transfer to a supervisor or try calling later hoping you will get through with someone else. Otherwise you can go to a Reliance Mobile Store or Web World to submit the request.

Note: You have to request for EVDO activation only if you have already activated the handset using *228 (and received the Welcome SMS)

When calling Customer Care, here are tips posted by various members:

"Ask Them to check if A12AUTH (A12 Auth) is active on your MDN or not? If They don't understand then tell them its related to EVDO, and simply ask them to take a request for A12AUTH activation."

"You can also them you have an OMH RUIM and have done *228 activation already."

"If they ask which handset you are using, tell them its Samsung Corby or Samsung Galaxy i500, etc."

"If *355 tells that they deal only with data cards, tell them you a Micromax EVDO data card in which you to use the RUIM card. For plan change you can call *222/*333 later after EVDO is activated"

"If they ask for the SIM number, them give them MEID/RSN mentioned in your handset"

"Activation time can vary between 12 - 48 hours and you will get a confirmation call from Reliance asking you to restart your handset. If they ask you to do *228 activation then that means your handset is not activated properly yet."

"Shoot a mail to Netconnect.Broadband@relianceada.com for EVDO activation request. Just mention that you are using Samsung Galaxy POP i559 (Open Market Handset) on Reliance CDMA prepaid network and mention your mobile number. They will take up the request."

"I got evdo activated by emailing to customer care of rcom and appellate authority.
The email address according to circle is easily available on rcom website .
Mail them for evdo activation with your name, mdn, circle and alternate number and it will be done."

I have got EVDO activated at Reliance and uploaded the NV dump file given by the handset seller; how do I check whether EVDO is activated now as the status icon always shows 3G/EV in my handset?
A: Newer handsets always show 3G/EV status icon even if you are connected to 1x. Most custom ROMs have a fix for this and you can try one of them. However if this is a new handset, avoid rooting/custom recovery before making sure EVDO is activated and working.

If you can't try a custom ROM with the fix, then download the "Speed Test" app. Select "Reliance Communications Mumbai" for the server. Start the test and check the ping and download speed. Repeat the test and also try with the closest server location near you. Check the "Results" tab and if the results are all above 500 ms or if the download speed is all below 150 kbps, then you are likely to be connected to 1x and not EVDO.

If you just got the confirmation call, you can try giving it one more day and then check again. If the ping/speed still does not change then you can check it with your handset seller. Make sure *228 says that the handset is already activated.

Note: Avoid applying any OTA updates or rooting/custom recovery before you make sure EVDO is activated.

#312385 Wanted ZTE Axon 7 or HTC 10

Posted by supraket on 26 July 2016 - 12:13 PM

Hi.

I have been looking for a phone with following features, at least:

1. Snapdragon 820

2. 5"+ screen size

3. Quad HD. Basically anything above a Full HD screen. Full HD screens for 5"+ size gives average pixel density.

4. 4 GB RAM

5. Fingerprint unlock

I was banking on OnePlus 3, but not happy with the screen.

Then came across LeEco Le Max 2 which has Quad HD screen. The reviews of users who purchased it (and not the review bloggers) gave it a very average rating, specially because the FP doesn't work.

HTC 10 was always on my mind, but 50k+ price tag is way too much. Would love to get my hands on this if any seller is selling a brand new one at affordable price. I can easily opt for iPhone 6S if have to spend such a bomb.

Couple of days ago came across ZTE Axon 7. And it has all the features am looking for.

But there seem to be no announcement from ZTE of launching it in India, and doesn't look like they will in near future. And am in dire need of a phone.

Are there any sellers in India, specially Mumbai, who are importing this phone? Now that it's available in USA, along with China.

However, there seems to be LTE band 40 missing in the Axon 7. Will it affect my LTE usage? Am a Airtel user.

Any other phone that you can suggest is also welcome.

Thank You. :)

#210729 Mobile Number Portability (MNP): Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Posted by rajanmehta on 29 November 2010 - 01:02 AM

Some important FAQ's from the point of view of consumers for Mobile Number Portability

Everyone waiting with excitement for MNP launch in their respective circles. I thought some FAQ on important issues at one place will help all. So drafted this. I know there is a separate MNP thread but some critical information gets lost in so many posts and also some questions are not answered there. Hope you all find this useful. Will update this if something more comes to attention. Thank You and enjoy MNP.

When is MNP being launched in my circle.

Mobile Number Portability has been launched across India on 20th January 2011. For Official Confirmation of this, See Here http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__216104

In What circumstances my request for MNP may be rejected?

-A period of 90 days has not expired from the date of porting if you have ported your number earlier.
-A period of 90 days has not expired from the date of activation of your current number even if it was not ported earlier.
-There are some outstanding dues by way of pending bill or bills.
-There is a pending request for change of ownership of number.
-The mobile number to be ported is sub-judice.
-Any court has passed an order prohibiting the porting of the concerned number.

What exactly is meant by outstanding dues.

Outstanding dues will mean the amount by way of actually generated bills as on the date of your request for MNP. Suppose if your Billing Date is 7th of each month and you make a request for MNP on 15th of that month, outstanding dues will mean the amount of your bill generated on 7th of that month. The subsequent amount of your usage and rent till the time of actual number porting will have to be paid by you to your existing operator later on as and when the final bill is generated. However this amount is not considered as outstanding. You are only supposed to pay it. If you don't, then even after MNP, your number can be de activated by the new operator based on complaint by your existing operator.

I am a very old mobile subscriber and in the earlier days there was a lot of deposits to be paid for STD, ISD. I have such deposits with my existing operator. Can i adjust it against my outstanding so as not to wait for a refund.

You cannot. However as per the TRAI Quality of Service norms, your existing operator is supposed to refund you all the deposit within a period of 60 days from the date of closure.

I am a CDMA subscriber and want to switch to a GSM Service. My friend is having GSM Service and wants to switch to CDMA Service? Is it possible?

Yes. You will be able to switch from CDMA>GSM as well as GSM>CDMA.But you will need a GSM Handset if switching from CDMA and CDMA handset if switching from GSM.

I am swiching from CDMA to CDMA and have an official handset from my current operator. Will the same handset work with the new operator.

If you are having an OMH (Open Market Handset) Sim CDMA handset, it will work with the new CDMA service provider. For other handsets it is a grey area. TRAI in its Mobile Number Portability Regulations has mentioned the following as one of the reasons for rejection of MNP request.

"there are subsisting contractual obligations in respect of which an exit clause has been provided in the subscriber agreement but the subscriber has not complied with such exit clause:"

There are lots of CDMA handsets sold at cheap rates by operators. You pay as less as Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 for them. However we all don't care to read the fineprint of terms and conditions. If the terms and conditions says that the handset is the property of the operator, then you will be stuck there as the operators will interpret the above TRAI clause as per their convenience and say that the customer needs to return the handset back to them.

I am a postpaid subscriber but would like to be prepaid one with the new operator.

Yes you can do that. You can also be a postpaid subscriber from prepaid.

I am a prepaid subscriber and have a good amount of balance in my account. Will it be carried forward to new operator.

No. You will lose your prepaid credit balance with the existing operator.

I have a lot of add on packs like SMS, Onnet free talktime etc. Will it be carried forward to the new operator of my choice.

Unfortunately No. You will have to select a fresh plan of your choice from the new operator.

For how long my services be disrupted.

Your services will be disrupted for not more than 2 hours on the day of actual porting. Even this will be mostly done between late evening to early morning hours to cause least inconvenience. Your phone will remain operational on all days while your MNP request is under process.

I am interested in switching to a new operator of my liking. What do i need to do?
-Send an SMS: PORT<space>Mobile Number (that is to be ported) to 1900.
For ex. PORT 1234567890
-Your existing operator will immediately provide you with a 8 digit alpha-numeric porting code that you need to submit to the operator you wish to opt to along with relevant documents.
-The unique porting code will be valid for 15 days for all service areas except Jammu & Kashmir, Asaam & North East Licensed areas where the validity of the Unique Porting Code allocated to a subscriber will be 30 days from the date of request OR till such time the number is ported out, whichever is earlier, irrespective of the number of requests the subscriber makes.
- You need to submit the documents to operator of your choice within this time frame.
-Your number will be ported to the new operator within a maximum time frame of 7 Working days. For Jammu & Kashmir it will be maximum 15 Working days.

What Documents are required for porting the number to a new operator?

-Duly Filled Customer Application Form of your new operator alongwith the UPC (Unique Porting Code) details.
-Your Adress Proof and Identity Proof.
-Copy of last bill paid to your current operator.

I made a porting request to the new operator but now changed my mind and do not want to shift. What to do?

You can cancel your porting request to the new operator within 24 hours of submitting the application but the porting fees of Rs 19 (If you had paid) will be non refundable.

I will port from say Reliance to Tata Docomo. I understand that my number remains the same but if i surrender my number in Tata Docomo, what happens to the number?

Once you surrender your ported number, it will again revert back to the Original Operator for issue to a new customer.

I stay in Gujarat but now will be shifting to Mumbai Soon. So i guess it makes sense to port my number to a Mumbai Circle Telecom Operator.

Currently you can only port your number to an operator within your telecom circle. Inter Circle portability is not allowed yet but is on the radar of the govt. and will happen ultimately.

Can i use the same SIM Card of my current operator after i port to a new operator.

No. Your Operator will issue a new Sim Card to you. You can continue to use your current operator's Sim card even after you give the portability request but only till the time of actual porting. Once porting is done, insert the new sim card.

I am sick of those unwanted marketing calls and already registered with the Do Not Call Registry. I guess even after porting i will have peace of mind as my number remains the same.

Picture is not completely clear yet but some operators are saying that you will need to re-register for Do Not Call Registry. If your new operator has an option in the CAF form for activation of DND, select it otherwise activate it after porting.

Is there any charges for this?
TRAI has mandated maximum of Rs. 19/- for MNP request to be paid to your new operator. However your new operator has the option to waive it off.

I fulfill all the criteria for porting my number still my porting request was rejected by my current operator/i am facing technical glitches wherein my current operator has de-activated my number but new operator is not activating hence i cannot make or receive any calls/What to do if i have any complaints regarding my MNP porting process?

You should first try lodging complaints with your current/new operator for resolution of your MNP porting related complaints. If still there is no resolution, you can always complain to Deptt. of Telecom OR TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India). Officially neither DOT or TRAI has announced any procedure/contact details for people wanting to complain regarding MNP Process/issues. However, you can lodge your complain on the following public e-mail of DOT & TRAI.

Deptt. Of Telecom ddgpg-dot@nic.in
TRAI ca@trai.gov.in

What Precautions i should take so that my porting request is not rejected?

During Generating The Port Out Code:
Ensure that the SMS you are sending for generating the Porting Code is without any signature. Many people put default signatures in their SMS.
Some of the Operators are intentionally blocking the Generation of Port Code and you may receive messages like, "Can not process Your Request, Please Try After Some Time". In such cases, lodge a complaint with the Customer Service of Your Operator and wait for resolution. While lodging the complaint, be firm and tell your Operator that unless your complaint is processed in a reasonable time frame, You will take the matter further by lodging Complaints to DOT and TRAI.

Before Proceeding to New Operator With Port In Request
Ensure that there is no pending request for Change of Ownership of your number with the current operator.
Ensure that you have already paid of your last generated bill to your current operator if you are a post paid customer.
Check that 90 days have passed from the date when your services was activated with the current operator.
If you have converted your Postpaid to Prepaid with your current operator, ensure that 90 days have passed from the date of activation of Prepaid. (Though this is not uniform and debatable)
Do not give Port In request to more than One Operator with the same UPC Code.
If you have received any free handset with time commitment or are under some scheme with your current operator which mandates you to fulfill certain obligations, Clarify with your current operator what you need to do so that your contractual obligations are fulfilled and port out will not be rejected.

While Going to New Operator For Port In
Ensure that your Unique Porting Code and Mobile Number is Correctly Filled in the Necessary Forms.

During The Porting Process
If you are a Postpaid Customer and a fresh bill is generated while the porting process is going on, Pay it off immediately preferably in Cash at the Operators Outlets, So it reflects immediately in your account.
